Dr. McCarty is a dentist anesthesiologist providing mobile, office-based anesthesia services throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He specializes in delivering safe, effective sedation for children, extensive oral surgical procedures, medically complex patients, and individuals with dental anxiety—bringing hospital-level anesthesia care directly to the dental office.

Dr. McCarty completed his undergraduate education at Boston College and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry.

He went on to complete advanced residency training in anesthesiology at The Mount Sinai Hospital & School of Medicine, in New York City. He then practiced in a surgery center setting in the greater San Francisco area.

Since relocating home to New England in 2007, Dr. McCarty has become the trusted leader in office-based dental anesthesia. He has performed more dental office-based anesthetics than any provider in the region and is the longest-practicing dentist anesthesiologist in New England. Dr. McCarty has been board certified by the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology since 2009.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. McCarty serves as a staff anesthesiologist at Franciscan Children’s Hospital. He has also held academic appointments at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, and has contributed to advanced training programs at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
